A UNEP project, managed by the REC, has successfully supported national-level working groups and subregional efforts to align Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania's efforts to transition to updated standards on fuels and vehicles. The final wrap-up meeting, to be held on 12-13 May, will report on the progress, experience and follow-up plans. UNEP will provide a training session on the use of the Global Fuel Economy Auto Tool and facilitate discussion on the continuation of auto fuel economy efforts, as follow up of the GFEI subregional launch in 2010 and the initiation of national level efforts in Montenegro and additional countries through GEF country strategies on climate change.
